ETHNIC MINORITY VIOLENCE STORIES – CARE INTERNATIONAL VIETNAM

Since 2018, the project Stand Up and Speak Out (SUSO)—raising awareness and voice of northern mountainous communities in responding to gender-based violence—has been implemented in Dien Bien. The project aims to change the perception of ethnic minority women and men about gender-based violence as well as promote the voice-out of people suffering from gender-based violence and the community’s awareness of the situation of gender-based violence in the area. After 3 years of operation, the project marks certain changes in the issue of gender-based violence in many aspects. SAHI interviewed people about the story of gender-based violence among ethnic minorities and opened up a big picture of change.
